There's a more fun alternative Brit Pop universe where the popularity of Oasis and Supergrass were reversed. This album makes total sense for its time, but feels a bit gimmicky now. I have always enjoyed Sun Hits The Sky, but some of this seems just silly now.

The Britpop comedown was pretty fucked up. This sits well alongside Pulp's This is Hardcore. The cheesy grins from the first album are replaced by a bit more beef. This is no bad thing. Mick Quinn's bass plays a bloody blinder here. Late in the Day is a lovely lull mid-album.
