an all-time breakup album—because that’s really what it is, the tenderest of grand finales, the sincerest of send-offs…how devastating is that closing track?! it’s always easier to tell someone that all they have to do is ask to come back when you know that they never will. but that kind of forgone conclusion doesn’t make the sentiment any less true. i’ve been waiting all my life…

sooo good. i feel like it went by so fast....TOO fast. but i enjoyed it a lot. I listened to this before bed because i thought it would be good simmer down mellow music but then was caught off guard by how energetic it was. I liked the sort of echo-y (?) sound that a lot of the songs had (particularly noticeable in "The Boxer" and "The Only Living Boy In New York"). it feels very grand and cinematic, more so than a lot of their earlier music. just overall so so beautiful kind of still punches me in the gut even though i've heard a lot of these song so many times.
