The College Dropout

Allow me to copy/paste another review I wrote for another album from the guy: The guy is a scumbag, but that's more or less all I know from him, I've lost interest/lost track with mainstream hip hop a long time ago. Is it any good? I don't particularly like his flow (there is no particular edge, it's a bit too smooth/dull to my taste), the background music is not too bad but a bit bloated. We can clearly hear that lots of efforts were put in the production, but I'm not really convinced and it's hard to claim that is pure genius. It wasn't really bad overall, but not that good either. And as the guy is despicable, I don't intend to put too much effort on this.

Kanye West is one of the most successful rap artists of all time, so sure he must have some level of talent, aside from his far right politics? Well, I lasted about one and a half tracks and then looked up the rest of the lyrics online. There’s no pathos, warmth or humour to be found here - just an endless steam of mother-effin n words, bigotry, violence and sexism, with no redeeming qualities, like every other gangsta rapper from the 90s. Appalling.
