TL;DR: Imagine Coldplay with less whinning. You get it? There you go! Long version: OK, so the first song is pretty catchy, but then you can easily hear here and there gimmicks of "indie" (as in "fuck it we're mainstream and signed on a big ass major company") rock from this time. Like fucking Coldplay. With less whinning. Sometimes they can be pretty OK actually, with a good rhythm section (and a bass lines as the backbone of some of the songs), and a serious post-punk feeling (the bass once again, and some guitar parts). I was going to be indulgent, then they decided that it was a good idea to have the 17 song. Yeah, romanticizing anything with an underage girl is so fun!

This album had so little impact on me that I almost forgot to write a review of it! It’s very much in the BBC Six Music / Glastonbury indie stage on a Saturday afternoon vein of middle of the road mid 2000s rock music. The only bit that made me wince was when these 30 something rockers started singing about a girl being “only 17”. Yikes.
