Here's an artist name I hear all the time without ever knowing what she sounds like. I assumed it would be much more poppy than it was. I actually thought this was quite lovely and more in-line with something like Joni Mitchell or Carole King. I like this. 3.66/5
I wasn't really into this. There were maybe a few moments where a song caught my ear, but overall it's a style that I just didn't care for. It's interesting that it's considered a folk/Americana album. Lyrically I think that makes a kind of sense, but it mostly just sounded like a pop album to me, though maybe a bit more on the gloomier side. Many songs struck me very much as "I can hear this as background music for a contemporary dance piece on So You Think You Can Dance." 2.4/5
