I’ve been listening to Anthrax since my teens, but I don’t really know if they’re THAT essential. I’d easily swap this for another, less-represented metal genre or even another Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath album. Still, this is as good as they get, and it makes sense that half of it still gets played every night. What made Anthrax stand out is their ability to have fun with themselves, but still take themselves seriously when needed. And that still holds up, on top of solid songwriting. B
