Nobody does a mambo like Tito! I love the sound of this album; it's such a classic sound that not only instantly registers the Latin style, but also the time it came from. The tracks Hong Kong Mambo and Estoy Siempre Junto a Ti are great with their marimba and vibraphone tracks, respectively. Overall pretty fun record; maybe not for everyday listening, but there's definitely times when I like putting on some of these older Latin styles like mambo or psychedlic cumbria.

Really not my kind of music, but I definitely enjoyed myself. Not sure if I would revisit, but it was fun.

My limited knowledge of Tito Puente comes from him being a suspect of shooting Mr. Burns, while the title of this album recalls my sister’s dance trope. So coming in mostly blind, I like this just fine. It’s a solid dance album, one that saves some of its best grooves for the crucial second half, even if it gets a little tiresome at the very end. Still worth a listen to this rock n roll soul.
