Sign 'O' The Times

I’ve never quite subscribed to this being Prince’s best album, when Purple Rain is tighter and Around the World in a Day has a stronger vibe. Additionally, I just prefer Prince having more of a rock n roll edge. But it’s hard to deny that this has a lot of his strongest ideas and he’s still great when aping P-Funk and Tower of Power. Easily an all-timer double LP A-

This album isn’t bad, but not the best we’ve heard from Prince on this list. Nothing on here I dislike, but it’s not one I’m going to revisit as a while often.

I wasn't into this one. I guess I don't really get Prince. I liked 1999, but everything else has sorta bounced off me. Slow, repeat-y, and I don't get locked into his grooves. 2/5
