I've hated many of the songs on this album for a long time, mostly due to them being played multiple times a day on the muzak player of an awful retail job I had in my 20's. So I was hoping that with decades of not hearing Wings, that dislike would be tempered. I'm just okay with Band on the Run and Jet now. However, the last two tracks on the album got my attention; got to love a track when you know shit's getting real when the synth and clarinet drop! The end of the album alone makes me really want to listen to this again, so I'm giving this a 3.5/5 much to my surprise.

Is this our first solo Beatle album? (I know Wings is technically a band, but c’mon)
It’s funny, George has always been my favorite Beatle, but I tend to gravitate to Paul’s stuff just as much. He was the rocker of the group, if you wanted a good time, he’d deliver. And this has plenty of groovy moments and rockin’ tunes, but I vibe as much with most of the softer songs as well. For a while, I’d sing “you’re a good girl” to my dog in the tune of “Bluebird”, so the album has a place in my heart for that alone. It’s also just a lot of fun and doesn’t overstay it’s welcome, even if it’s pretty frontloaded.
