Supergrass was one of those bands I was aware of but never listened to in the 90's. I'm now very much kicking myself for not having checked this out earlier. This album has so much great stuff in it; kind of seems like a precursor to proggy rock bands like Closure in Moscow. Instant fan.
I had an online friend who used to be swear by Supergrass and turned me onto their first album. He’s been off the grid for a minute now, so I hope he’s doing well. I never actually got around to listening to their other stuff, though, so this was all new to me. Still pretty good! Strong melodies and a good sense of humor, but not too cloy with its comedic tracks either. They deserve to have been at least as big as Oasis were here. B
Very interesting album. It reminded me of Beatles in that britpop way, but it was way more listenable than, say, Oasis. There was a lot of neat ideas. Overall though, I just don't care much for britpop. 3.49/5
