I have a memory of k.d lang from when I was a kid and she first became popular. For some reason that memory did not include that fact that she's a country singer, and a crooner at that. So I was pleasantly surprised. The album is decent overall, and again, that lap steel guitar always gets me.
Initially I was thinking that she has a pretty voice, but this isn’t for me. The more I listened though, it started to click. I definitely prefer the ballads to the more bouncy tracks, where lang shows off her full range. I get why she’s so acclaimed now. B
I didn't care for this album much at all, unfortunately. Just boring, however nice her voice is. 1.5/5
