Nick Cave and I just don’t see eye to eye anymore. With one exception — the mournful album Ghosteen — I have great respect for Nick Cave the artist, and for his unwavering artistic and personal integrity. Musically, however, on "Henry’s Dream" Cave remains exactly the ‘backyard Elvis’ that I’ve always perceived him to be (and I don’t mean that as a criticism). He is a storyteller who looks at the dark and dirty sides of the world, but musically, it's too much rock 'n' roll for me. There's too little pause for thought and too much prose. He's a good man. But not for me. With all due respect.
