I’am surprised that they have a Dylan record this late into his career… The album opens with love sick it’s alright nothing as good as his earlier career, also the mixing on Dylan’s voice sounds horrible as it has a sorta fake quality to it ( his voice is supposed to sound bad). Dirt road blues is living proof that his lyrical talents from the 60’s are rather non existent it’s still nice sounding though and would be considered good for other musicians. Standing in the doorway is what I wanted from a late career Dylan with dirtier production and a worse voice this could’ve fit amongst his 60’s classics this is honestly a great piece of music! Million miles is a bluesy track it’s okay but forgettable in the 30 something Bob Dylan album’s ( even if I only know 3 of them). Trying to get out of heaven is really grand and epic sounding even with the voice of sand and glue over it it’s one of the better songs so far 100%. Till I fell in love with you is okay I like the instrumentation much more than the lyrics as this is quite bland in my opinion. Not dark yet is one of those great lyrical songs it’s a great emotionally heavy piece of music! The way that cold irons bound is really cool love that bass line at 7 minutes it is a bit long but it’s still one of the best songs on the album. Make you feel my love is a great piano track ( probably the best on the album that is under 5 minutes). I can’t wait has really good instrumentation for Dylan’s voice very good song. The album ends with a very very long song highlands it okay I like the storytelling but it’s too long. The first half was kinda bad then it got really good then the last track kinda took 1 star off it so the album is a 3/5.
