Another one of the first albums I ever bought as a youth. This one plus Ringo (you know the one with photograph ) were my introduction to post-Beatles Beatles. I really liked this album as a 12 year old and beyond. I was expecting this revisit to bring back those warm feelings and it definitely lived up to it, especially on my 2nd time through. Great melodic sense and lots of different styles very well executed and beautifully crafted. Stand outs for me; Band on the Run, Bluebird, Helen Wheels, Let Me Roll it and especially Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five, a pulsating, mid-tempo piano-based rocker that ends the album with a bang after a slightly lacklustre side 2. 5 stars
