It's A Shame About Ray
The Lemonheads

catchy power pop melodies abound in this excellent album of pop punk, indie-rock. The songs are instantly catchy and familiar, but they also stand up as good dongs under further scrutiny. Confetti, the title track and Rudderless make side one an almost perfect 17 minutes or so of pop perfection. Side 2 does not see much of a drop off. There's even a nice if inconsequential cover of Mrs. Robinson to end things on a happy note. 4.5 stars
