Never heard this album before and the only song that I recognized is the opener; Bodhisattva, (which if you would have had me guess I would have said its a Alman Brothers Band song, but I digress.) I I like Steely Dan the rock band better than Steely Dan the soft jazz band. This album falls more into the rock band camp so I like it, but not as much as Can't Buy a Thrill or Pretzel Logic. But it's a good album a little more subtle and sophisticated than Can't Buy a Thrill, starting to show their jazz chops, which in this instance is a good thing. Not as immediately accessible as either of CBaT or Pretzel Logic but worthy of attention none the less. 3.5 stars
