I have never been bothered to listen to the xx. I hear their songs every now and then and Romy is quite popular in her own right but nothing makes me want to go and hear their discography. I feel this album just felt like that, a few songs I knew along with some pretty standard indie/dream-pop type songs. I love the sound they are going for I just don't think they execute it very well. Maybe it is because The xx are English that I hear their name more but I just can't get on board. Also you know there is a problem when the best and most popular song on the album is the instrumental intro, it is great but that doesn't excuse the rest of the album. Although because of the atmosphere I wouldn't be apposed to hearing it again I just think for where it sits compared to their competition I can only give it 2/5.
