Time Out
The Dave Brubeck Quartet

I have been waiting for this. Jazz. 2 genres people pick out, the classic "I'd listen to anything except country and jazz". I love country, but I have never really tried Jazz only in small doses and while I would say it isn't a genre that I am going to be raving about I strangely really enjoy it. Now I have heard of Dave Brubeck and this is some pretty stereotypical Jazz. But it is on this list for a reason. Maybe I got the album at the right time as I have been listening to lots of jazz lobby music, or more modern iterations of dark jazz like Portishead but this genuinely was really nice. I think it would be a go to and I would listen to it again if I was in the mood. I am just not sure how often I really would want to. I actually listened to this album while playing Cod Zombies and there was something bliss about going through rounds of zombies while jamming to this calm Jazz compared to the usual heavy music. It is just fun and intriguing genuinely to hear the time signatures and different ways to play the instruments. I don't know if other people rate this, maybe because it is generic Jazz it is not as admired but it is on the list so someone must like it. I am actually worries that this could be as good as Jazz gets and I will like the genre more but realise I rated this low. So I am going to be rash, maybe I wouldn't listen to it more then some more standard genres and albums. But in relation to a genre I am not particularly fond of, this is exactly what I would listen to it for, and for that reason I am giving it a 4. I also love that I really do have some stand out songs, I think I already knew Take Five and clearly for good reason but there were others.
