I don't know how to feel about this. I really like the instrumental behind the album, sometimes it is a little much but it fits in with a lot of my favourite stuff from the late 80's. I just did not feel it hit the heights I was expecting it too although it did really pick up towards the end. I mean I listened to it twice to make sure how I felt but I am still stuck. The vocals are strange, I have heard other voices like it and love them and some similar that I hate. It is just kind of there being carried by the instruments. I may have to listen to it again but I think that a 3 is fair because I would not rate it below 50% on my spreadsheet and I could find myself listening to it again. Stand Out Songs: Riddle of the Eighties Time With You Some Things Edit* Can't believe I did not make the connection, this is the bassist/vocals and drummer's project after Minutemen disbanded. No wonder I recognised it, Double Nickels on the Dime is such a classic Post-Punk album and it explains why I enjoyed the instruments, especially bass on this album. But it clear they started to head in a more indie/rock direction like a lot of bands at the time and I would definitely rather listen to Minutemen, but a cool project either way. If this is on the list I assume minutemen will be too.
