Going into this I knew how highly praised Miles Davis is so I was very excited. Then I heard the first song and saw the run time for the album and I was severely less excited. I would love to speak to someone who really enjoys this and try and understand what they mean. This being said I did start to enjoy it more as it went on but I just don't understand it how it even comes together. I mean a 27 minute song it has to just be improvisation right. Maybe it is some of the most impressive music I have heard or it is just winging it and calling it Jazz who knows. I mean I can definitely see why Jazz gets a bad name since this is some of the most popular from the genre and it genuinely just confusing. There were some great parts and I never felt like turning it off, but I just can not see myself willingly putting this record on and I can't give it a high rating. It has however made me slightly excited to hear his other, more acclaimed albums in hope something will resonate with me.
