I can't get past my mental block with U2. I believe if I was older, or first exposed to their older music, I might feel differently. But I grew up with the U2 of the late 80s/90s/00s when they were making incredibly uninspired and boring ass music for boring ass folks. I delayed listening to this album for a weekend (saw it was my Friday album, immediately said "absofuckinglutely not" and spent the weekend trying to hype myself up for it). I made it halfway through (skipping the singles I already knew) before I gave up completely. Ain't my cup of tea and never will be.
