Hail To the Thief
Radiohead

I kind of struggled with Radiohead after OK Computer, never quite finding the same rewards on later albums which delved ever deeper into complex electronica combined with rock. Hail to the Thief finds easy targets for their ire in President Bush and the general commodification of everyday life and presents it in antagonistic, spiky style. As the album progressed, I found rewards in later tracks, but the overall misery makes it hard to love. Possibly rewards are to be found on repeat listens - submitting to the mood seems to be the right way to go.
