A hard rock album I like, which is not often the case. The opener is a little too close to metal for my tastes but things gradually change to styles more to my liking. The album has a more melodic and psychedelic style, as evidenced on the hit Black Hole Sun, that I very much like. This stylistic metamorphosis begins with Fell in Black days which has a nice mid tempo gait. My favourite is Head Down with its beautiful guitar figure, beautifully melodic Chris Cornell vocal and powerful drumming - it's my favorite song. Other highlights; Limo Wreck, The Day I Tried to Live and Half with its Eastern feel. Overall a very accomplished album that I will revisit. 4 stars
