This was a two listen one for me. I realized after the first listen I wasn't really able to give it the proper attention needed to really make up my mind on it. Finally circled back to my second listen and I really enjoyed it. I do think I have really warmed up to the grunge sound more. I'd be very interested to give some of the lower rated grunge albums a relisten to see if getting an ear for it was the issue or if maybe I just picky about it. I didn't get much into the lyrics for the album but the sound is the thing I was really enjoying. It's dark and murky which seems pretty appropriate for an album called Dirt. I have a feeling this is an album I could get even more into as I listen to it more times. I was going to specifically mention how much I like the guitars on this album but then I realized I just really like the sound of all the instruments as well as the singer. Another great blend. Tempted a little to give this a 5 since I have a feeling it might grow to be one, but if we are talking initial impressions, I'd say a 4.
