Disintegration
The Cure

The Cure are from a town I went to very regularly when I lived in England. That's fun. Generally speaking, the gloomy introspective ambient instrumentals don't really do it for me. However, I did like a lot of the music on this album. "Last Dance" had some cool guitar sounds. They're doing a lot of stuff with pedals in this record. "Lovesong" is the song I recognize. I like a lot about it, and about the album in general, but I have a hard time getting into the singing style. "Lullaby" is cool, I like the instrumental sections a lot. "Fascination Street" is also cool. I am enjoying this section of the album with less singing a lot more. "Prayers of Rain" also has cool instrumental. I feel like I'd like a vocal-free version of this album. The vocals are a little droning and get old quickly for me. The album is depressing, in a way that is more often tedious than interesting. I like the instrumentals in a lot of places, but I always tune out when the singing starts again. 6/10
