I'm a huge fan of Joy Division however that appreciation never translated to New Order. There are songs that are the exception, Ceremony and Temptation and to a lesser extent, Love Vigilantes from this album. I've had this album in my collection for many years but have listened to it maybe 3 or 4 times previously. I enjoyed it this time more than I thought I would, maybe because I gave it more time, listening in my car as well as a couple undistracted listens. I still resist the overtly electronic overall sound but I do have a greater appreciation of the songcraft on display. 3.5 stars
