Discovering a new artist that fits is the biggest perk of this wonderful initiative. One can say that The Thrills sound derivative, but who cares when the songs are this good. Melodies, hooks and harmonies abound in this well crafted mature album. The influences are abundant...The beach Boys, Big Star, The Beatles The Buffalo Springfield, CSNY to name a few. But I also hear more modern touches from bands like Granddaddy and Badly Drawn Boy. But forget all that this is a fine album from a band that writes wonderful pop songs. 4 stars
