Canonical country. In the context of all the other albums, it's pretty clear that Willie is just twangy + crooner. I say "just", but he really nailed it. It is earnest and simple in a way that's unfortunately hard for me to appreciate these days, so hard to go beyond two stars. Nonetheless, I respect Willie a lot, and believe he's a national treasure.
