I will start with Make Me Feel Your Love was my wedding song. I loved that song (not by Dylan) but my husband loved Dylan so it worked out. Now that is where my love for this album ends. Dirt Road Blues, Trying to Get to Heaven and Not Dark Yet weren't bad. But for those (and all of the songs) I kept checking the length because they felt like they just kept going and going. They also felt so long because the rhythm and melody didn't change it was just the same cords over and over each song making them seem longer. I don't mind Dylan, not my favorite but I appreciate the depth in some of the lyrics and the folk style. This album confused me with the half blue half folk styling. Beyond that it was just song after song about how someone broke his heart and he never recovered. Nothing was deep into why this happened or what caused it, just she walked out the door, I was happy before I met her but now I am miserable. It really got grating and whiny coming from an old man who showed no accountability or depth into why the relationship ended. This is an album I feel like Dylan could have done without. Did people really like this album or were they just to afraid to say Dylan did something bad?
