XTC's talent for composing beautiful and complex yet engaging pop songs is on a par with The Beatles or Brian Wilson. A beautifully produced and orchestrated album that also has hooks that draw the listener in while also challenging with unusual chord progressions. I ignored this album on release and up until today but it may well become my favourite XTC album along with Skylarking. Never thought I'd say that. XTC are a towering band that is criminally underrated. What a shame that I must go to YouTube to stream it. Come on Tidal, step up to the plate. 4 stars with a bullet.
