Truthfully I was not excited for a David Bowie album today, as my mood wasn't feeling conducive to his brand of eclectic and bombastic pop/rock sound. So imagine my surprise when I found this album to be an unforeseen (to me) blend of Bowie's classic sound, and ambient/electronic sounds that give off a very haunting vibe. Coming off of hard drugs and collaborating with Brian Eno in France will do that to a man, I guess.
