Countdown to Ecstasy? Fine... counting... counting... still counting... I'm afraid ecstasy is the last thing this album is going to give me. Sure it's well made and all that, but the fundamental thing, the musical interest of the songs, is missing for me. This is ultimate, beige, Dad Rock, just trying a bit too hard to be clever. Don't care for Fagen's vocals. I'll still give it a 3 though because the musicianship is good as are some jazz and prog-rock elements. But it's very "meh". Like Aja.
