Pyromania
Def Leppard

Big, dumb and very cheesy, about the best you can say. Pop metal heading/grasping for that radio friendly mass market. As they sit on their millions guess they don’t give a damn, but originally when you claim to be influenced by Bowie, Zep etc and end up famous for this sugar crock cock pop metal? This is the leppard album thought I could actually listen to before they fully fell into that barrel of saccharine turgid shit, and if this is here it’s follow up hysteria is gonna be and that is where Mutt Lange took it head first into said barrel to make everyone many more millions and still heard here and there today, and that’s a sound I hated from the first listen of the first single, but guess that’s another day down the line. Pyromania is ok I thought for a bit of dumb fun but looking back it really has the same shit, there are couple of good pop songs early on, photograph and too late, then the laying on of lots of rock n roll cliches and heavy production, which are fine but too much will rot your teeth if you’re not careful, and it gets a bit much very quickly. Started off being generous 3 Star, but it outstayed if’s welcome with the cliches and syrup by time got to the end - 2 Star. Don’t care how popular this was, 1 album would be enough to represent this sound. This over hysteria personally. And to the top reviewer of this yes, personally would swap any Uncle Tupelo album onto the list for this shit. Wasn’t expecting to be so damning of this but with hindsight hasn’t rock of aged well at all, falls into albums I am now embarrassed I once actually it some point owned.
