Hysteria
Def Leppard

This album is a monument to the gluttonous and over-the-top sound that is 80s hair metal, in all the best and worst ways. It's cheesy as hell, bloated, and overly polished... but I can't bring myself to hate it, despite being prepared to when I saw the 1hr+ runtime. Maybe it's nostalgia, but just by listening to the SEVEN singles on this thing, it's clear that this album was a force to be reckoned with in the late 80s, and I can't help but be totally swept up in the tidal wave of rock n' roll awesomeness. And as a drummer, how can you not respect the hell out of Rick Allen for giving an absolutely killer performance AFTER losing an arm. That fact has been the butt of many a joke in the music community for years, but when you step back and seriously think about that scenario and how that must have affected his life, it really is an incredible musical feat.
