How did they sneak another Nick Cave album in here? The people who make this list are obsessed with him, I've heard more Nick Cave than Beatles. I find it hard to believe that if I had to listen to 1001 albums before I did, this many of them would be by Nick. I didn't dislike "Blast Off", but it also didn't have a lot to offer for me. "She's Hit" was a very boring noisescape. "Dead Joe" has me wishing we could go back to the boring noisescape. I'm definitely not enjoying the vocals. The music seems to be trying to make noise for the sake of it. "The Dim Locator" is the most tolerable song yet. It's got some fun riffs and cool vocal sections in it. It still had plenty of annoying things greatly outnumbering the enjoyable, but it had the most good moments of any song so far. "Several Sins" was alright. I like the slower pace and the chorus was cool. I got tired of describing the specific reasons I didn't like the songs, so I stopped writing thoughts on individual songs. This was truly an album I had to get through. It can get worse than this, but it wasn't good. The songs were most frequently a mix of unpleasant and boring, and infrequently just OK. This album's vocals feel like the ambient noise that plays in a haunted house to put me on edge. It had a lot of abrasive elements, but not super abrasive, so that was OK, but it didn't balance them out with anything nice to listen to. 3/10
