A Date With The Everly Brothers
The Everly Brothers

Lot of presentism going on here in this list. In this instance it seems most negative views are not about the music but the moral grandstanding on what is, accepted, a dated view point around objectification. Except that just becomes a form of cultural bias and gets illogical and ahistorical, assuming that our morals are obviously superior;when it’s not like sexism and racism or in this instance objectification have been eradicated now have they, far from it. God only knows how we will be judged in our turn by our descendants. And as far as I am aware the Everlys weren’t found out to be a closet Hitler or such. So viewed as what it is a piece of music from 1960, the golden age of rock n roll. Not music or a record I know but It’s classic, so highly influential (Beach boys, Beatles) with those harmonies. The music is just superb. 4 Star
