1001 Albums Summary

this was my first time listening to this album in its entirety! prior to this i had only heard "me and bobby mcgee" (my personal favorite). i also vaguely remember my confirmation teacher ranting about "mercedes benz" and me subsequently losing my mind at the absurdity of it all. that's how you know janis is an icon. i was initially introduced to her when i heard "piece of my heart" and watched her performance in the woodstock documentary. nothing compares to the sound of this woman's voice!!! she was truly a gem. or should i say, pearl.
