Talking Heads 77
Talking HeadsI've always liked Talking Heads' singles and I'm one of the people who believe that Stop Making Sense is one of the best concert films ever made, but here's a confession, I've never owned a Talking Heads album until recently when I got More Songs About Buildings and Food from a second hand shop. So to get an album with only one song on it that I knew (Psycho Killer) was almost like Talking Heads had released a new album. I enjoyed it, It was kind of familiar but different, with David Byrnes distinctive voice and Tina Weymouth's funky bass. It may be because I'm much more familiar with their singles or because it's their debut, but I felt like some of the songs sounded like demos, also some other interesting sounds in some songs, such as steel drums in the opening track, made it an interesting and enjoyable listen.
