Jazz Samba
Stan GetzPossibly my favorite jazz album, especially the first song.

Kinda boring, very influenced by ok computer and probably Joan jet. The song “you said something” in particular reminds me of subterranean homesick alien. The thom Yorke feature surprised me. I doubt I’d ever go back to this though.
Very cinematic strings. The songs have the feel of 60s/70s American folk songs while having the unique melodies of bossa nova and other Brazilian genres. The Beatles influence, specifically Paul McCartney, can be heard throughout the album. One of the only things that takes away from it is that I can’t understand the lyrics. The instruments are really interesting.
Kinda feels like a predecessor to a lot of other avant-garde genres like noise rock and ambient. I don’t usually like stuff like that but I think the fact that this project uses classical instruments makes it easier for me to get into. The only problem is that it’s too long. I like it more than I remember liking kind of blue but I doubt I’d come back to it often
A good exploration of genres while sticking to a certain sound, all kinda rooted in southern rock. Some slow songs, jazz funk, blues, and heavy rockers. “Move me on down the line” seems very kinks inspired which I appreciated. A very solid album, just not particularly my taste and I doubt I’d come back to it very often.
I didn’t finish it, I thought it was boring. I can appreciate the production but it’s not for me.
Not as good as village green or Arthur but still an incredible album. Waterloo sunset might be the greatest song ever written. Lovely little tunes.
