Overall very fun Acoustic surf rock with a punk ethos. I thought this was from the 90s! Bass is doing a lot of the work. Only most of the songs are about an unfulfilled desire for sex. It's the Blister in the Sun album. 1 listen favorite: Kiss Off
The Doors last full album with Jim Morrison. Very much a Doors album, very bluesy. I can't say I'm thrilled with anything here. Riders On The Storm is the closer. Favorite - LA Woman
Very serious Beach Boys! For some reason, very serious Beach Boys reminds me of very serious Coldplay. Not really a fair comparison, as Coldplay started out serious and got way more poppy and light, the Beach Boys vice versa. Anyway, I don't think all these songs work, but the best tracks stand up with anything else in their catalogue. Favorite: Surf's Up Side note, The End of the Trail is a hilarious choice for the album cover.
