1001 Albums Summary

Strong start for the album, good rhythm and catchy songs like that lady and if you were there. The slower songs don't feel out of place and help keep focus on the album. Not sure how I feel about the cover of listen to the music. Feels different enough that it can grow on me bur I don't know if I can place it above the doobie brothers version. The second half isn't as solid as the first but it's still good. Overall 4/5

Overall isn't bad, I do like the era of music mainly because of how simple it is. Rays vocals are good on the album(I mean its ray charles). Don't hate the album i'm just finding it bland. Just doesn't feel like his best work. Good set of songs just can't go higher than a 3 personally. Just not my style

It's just too slow for me personally three songs in. Almost every song is too slow and it makes the album feel boring. The singing is ok and lyrics aren't horrible but it just feels bland besides Bert's blues and season of the witch.

Not much to say. One of the biggest albums to be released. Not all songs are great but there isn't a lot that would become a skip on a second listen.
