1001 Albums Summary

The album is a lyrical masterpiece. Each song has different story-telling, poetry, and the free-styling element of rap music. Despite its poetry and smart rhymes I don’t find myself listening to this later. It’s more of an album to appreciate as a gold piece of art in a museum. Unless you memorize lyrics and hooks easily, you will need to take extra time to understand each song’s content, meaning, and true value. Many people have mentioned the jazz infusion in some of the songs. I personally don’t think the jazz elements did much to influence the album except for a few songs. But that does not take away from its quality.

First half was fine. Second half it began to drag out. The songs would've been better if they weren't as long. Only 3 songs stood out to me. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad.

A solid album. I noticed the "affects" but I felt that it was only noticeable in some songs. It's good for head-bopping and just having a good time. I liked half the songs.

The album was not outstanding. It had a few songs that were alright but the rest didn’t do much to make the album that great. It’s the same old 80s rock, metal sound. Not great but not horrible. Also- I think there’s something with me not liking the title tracks off of these rock albums. I didn’t see how “Breaking the Law” was good. I really liked "The Rage" though.

I see a lot of people saying there’s too much flute. I felt the opposite. I didn’t really think they’re was that much flute. It was only very noticeable in a few songs and when it was used, it was tasteful. If that’s too much flute then I don’t know what to tell you. I like this album a lot more than I thought I would. Good melodies and highlights. Aqualung was a great way to start off the album. It was a solid album.
