Merriweather Post Pavilion
Animal CollectiveVery trippy. Ethereal. Sort of reminded me of the spacey ness of some Bowie records and the youthfulness of a group love track.

I had heard fast car before and honestly wasn’t a fan of it mainly because I heard it in places like target or Starbucks which made the song seem not genuine however listening to the song with the album put everything into context. Chapman is a great story teller and her writing goes from nostalgic to hopeful to almost haunting especially when she goes acapella. I definitely appreciate the artist and fast car now more than I did previously and I’m interested in hearing more
I understand that they’re a classic band but honestly the singing is not for me and the stories I couldn’t relate to despite the poverty. The one thing I will say is the guitar playing is top notch and fantastic most of the time, even though it lingers on the overindulgent.
Just right amount of punk. Kind of got repetitive in the middle but ended with a bang.
Loved the feeling they exuded but it most of the songs felt the same and there was no real story to the album. I’d recommend thinking of it as a playlist rather than an album. However there are some gems in there.
