Super laid back, beautiful jazz. I loved this and appreciate the bluesy sound.

There’s something charming about this musical theater type rock opera, but for me personally it is too loud, dramatic, and intense for much replay value. Certainly a fun album but not much else for me.

Lou Reed
I like Lou Reed a lot actually, but I found this album as a whole detracts from the merit of the few really great songs on it. There’s rambling chords, goofy lyrics, low-effort tracks that take away from the big pictures presented in “Walk on the Wild Side” and “Perfect Day” that are actually really beautiful and well-thought-out. I like this depiction of beauty in the gritty underbelly of night life, like Tom Waits expertly pinpoints. However, I wish that the tracks surrounding these gems appropriately supported them musically, unfortunately I think as a whole this album earns a 3.

I was surprised by how pleasant this album is. It’s somewhat homogenous in sound through the first half, but remains somehow compelling in many tracks.
I appreciate the variety of instruments, sounds presented in this album; it’s clear that the production is well thought out and executed, giving it the feeling of depth offered by bands like Radiohead with a folksy, country twist. I like the breathing room in this album, its very windy, pleasant, a feeling of simplicity even with a relatively complex arrangement. However, this is certainly background music and does not require a lot of “active” listening nor does it command focus. It’s very easy to listen to and excellent background music for your day.
I liked it more than I expected— I was ready for it to be a bit boring, flat, much like its cover art. I was pleasantly surprised by the way this band retains a 90’s feel while still staying true to that turn of the millennium it was born from. Not a lot of replay value or sing-along capacity, but certainly nice.

I found this album actually pretty difficult to rate— like a lot of reviewers here, I noticed a lot of repetition, but something about these tracks hold a unique charm that surpasses the technical “good” of each track.
I really enjoyed this album. There’s a certain sexiness, replay-value, catchiness, that I really quite like. It’s grungy, glamorous, and a lot of fun. It’s hard to believe this album is pushing 50 years old, it really has a lot of modern feel and value. Lyrically it is average with some catchy hooks, but again something about this album keeps me coming back, its compelling. 4/5

I personally did not find this album to be as quirky, charming, or unique as it finds itself to be. Really didn’t enjoy it and it just droned on with a pretentious self-importance that really put me off of it. Not really my speed and lyrically annoying

I really liked this electronic, laid back, relaxed but engaging album. I would listen again. 4/5, to be honest I enjoyed the insistence of a lot of the instrumental lines, but I think many could view it as repetitive. I thought this was creative, fresh, fun, and compelling. Super nice recommendation, I’ve never heard of this band before and was pleasantly surprised.

This album was sick, had me dancing around the grocery store. Awesome beats, unique sampling, great rap. I’m so glad I got this album today, I’d never heard of this group and feel like I’ve discovered a secret gem. This is a very strong 4/5 and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Amazing social commentary, powerful and compelling lyrics.
