The first song on this album, "The Concept" is one of the best songs of the 90s. It is an absolutely perfect track. In fact, "The Concept" is such a good song, it accidentally makes the rest of this album look worse, which is a shame because the rest of this album is consistently decent to great. Particular standouts include "What You Do To Me", "Metal Baby", and "Pet Rock". "Alcoholiday" is probably the second best song here, but again, nothing can really compare to "The Concept". best part(s): THE CONCEPT, Alcoholiday worst part(s): This album getting more hype than Grand Prix, the actual best Teenage Fanclub album.
You know what, it's actually refreshing to listen to something I don't really like. It really makes me appreciate the good music in the world more... Anyways, let's start with the positives, which pretty much start and end with "Walk This Way". "Walk This Way" proves that rap rock can actually be good, it's energetic, it's extremely catchy, has great guitar parts, good song!! The rest of this album, however, is so fucking boring I cant stand it. This was the longest 39 mins I've experienced in a while. The rapping is not engaging and the beats are way too simple that they're just boring. The worst offenders of this boringness are the tracks with only drums and vocals, such as "Perfection". The only time this record gets anywhere near interesting (other than "Walk This Way") is on the tracks with beats that have just a little more going on, like the title track. Nothing deeply hate-able about this album, just very boring and repetitive. best part(s): Walk This Way worst part(s): Oldheads who probably think this is better than any trap music ever
Inarguably cheesy, but it's fun all the way through. Don't really see myself coming back to it, but what for is it's worth a listen best part(s): Apache, In A Gadda Da Vida worst part(s): Three minute bongo solo
