OK Computer by Radiohead
Aug 08 2022

i already listened to this album LOLOLOL this album is actually pretty good, obvious highlights include paranoid android, exit music (for a film), karma police, climbing up the walls, and no surprises. as the first radiohead album i have ever listened to, i gotta say that, though the fanbase may be a little weird at times, i totally see where the love for this album is coming from.

xx by The xx
Aug 09 2022

it's a pretty peak indietronica/indie pop album. the combination of both the slow subtle male and female vocals and the atmospheric guitars/bass juxtaposed with the energetic drums create an album that set the scene for a new type of indietronica. highlights include vcr, crystalised, heart skipped a beat, infinity, and stars. i also need to point out the odd semi-ambient song fantasy, as while it wasn't anything too unexpected, i did still love how the xx executed it.

Drunk by Thundercat
Aug 10 2022

it's pretty funky, i think thundercat has a talent for this type of neo-soul bass noodling, but sometimes it can fall flat. i do like his sort of humor in the lyrics, it's probably a highlight of this album. where i think this album sells what it does well, are captain stupido, uh uh, blackkk, them changes, and drink dat. however, the places where i think this album can really underperform are bus on these streets, a fans mail, lava lamp, jethro, jameel's space ride, and inferno. still a pretty good album, just not one of the greats

Bossanova by Pixies
Aug 11 2022

the only pixies album i had listened to before this one was Doolittle, and to be quite frank i think i like this one more. the best song of ever shows up here (rock music), and cuts like allison, is she weird, dig for fire, and hang wire are some fantastic songs. no misses on this, genuinely a perfect piece in the pixies discography.

The Man Who by Travis
Aug 12 2022

i haven't explored the possibilities of what sources call "post-britpop", but this was a very solid introduction. highlights i liked were the fear, driftwood, turn, she's so strange, and the hidden track. this guy's vocals are amazing, i think that these guys definitely have a 5 star potential, but this sticks at 4 for now.
