KIWANUKA
by Michael Kiwanuka
It was off to a good start and then I zoned out. Nothing really peaked my interest until suddenly Fontaines D.C started playing and I realised the album must have ended and I didn't even notice. That's not to say the album is bad or that it only works as forgettable background music. It's more likely to be true that my ears pricked at the music that's familiar to me, like a greeting from someone I know and I'm excited to see, rather than meeting a friend of a friend for the first time, someone you may well get along with in time but don't have the focus or interest for right now.
