In Utero
Nirvana
Serve the servants was somewhat listenable.
Scentless Apprentice was just senseless noise.
Heart-Shaped Box could be enjoyed, wouldn’t skip if it came on the radio.
Rape Me’s intro was enjoyable, the rest of the song is pretty meh.
FFWHHROS was again somewhat enjoyable, I liked the instrumental side of the song, remind me of GH3.
Dumb is one of the better songs on the album, Kurt’s clean vocals were much more enjoyable here, and the overall song was decent.
Very Ape was enjoyable, it wasn’t overly “ugh” and dull, it was fairly frantic and was quite punk which was fun.
Milk It is another song that was just noise, it was a mix of Kurt just screaming and clean, dreary vocals.
Pennyroyal Tea was listenable and somewhat enjoyable, probably wouldn’t skip it if it came on the radio.
RFUS was actually just noise, didn’t enjoy at all.
Tourette’s again was unlistenable.
All Apologies was another song that I probably wouldn’t skip, it was calmer, which was a good ending to the album.
Overall, Kurt Cobain’s vocals stop me from enjoying this album, it had some high moments but were overpowered by the lows.

Brothers
The Black Keys
Everlasting Light through to Howlin’ For You were highly enjoyable.
She’s Long Gone was a just ok, not too gripping.
Black Mud was a short instrumental breath of fresh air.
The Only One was okay.
Too Afraid To Love you was good background music.
Ten Cent Pistol I liked.
Sinister Kid was good.
The Go Getter and I’m Not The One were a bit unmemorable.
Unknown Brother would gladly go on a playlist.
Never Gonna Give You Up was decent.
These Days and Chop And Change were enjoyable.
Keep My Name Outta Your Mouth was okay, wish another song had taken the last (vocal) song.
Black Mud II closes the album with another short instrumental, wish it was between TGG and IMTO to pull attention back.
Overall really enjoyable album, will listen to more stuff by The Black Keys. The majority of the album gave me Muse x Arctic Monkeys vibes, and the vocals were really good. Not a single song sounded the same, so it didn’t feel repetitive in any place.

The Queen Is Dead
The Smiths
The Queen Is Dead, well, given the events of yesterday the whole album is of poor taste, but it was ok, probably wouldn’t listen to it again, it was a bit too long.
Frankly, Mr. Shankly is not what I expected stylistically, it has a fun bounce to it, and it doesn’t drag on like TQID did, wouldn’t choose to listen to, but didn’t dislike it and wouldn’t skip it if it came on.
I Know It’s Over was ok, nothing great, nothing awful.
Never Had No One Ever is just a bit dreary, nothing blows me away.
Cemetery Gates is again ok, nothing much to comment on.
Bigmouth Strikes Again was a bit boring.
The Boy With The Thorn In His Side was listenable, wasn’t a fan though.
Vicar In A Tutu never interested me that much, it came and went, and I do not care if I don’t hear it again.
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is on, the instruments are fine, just don’t really care to much.
Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others might be my favourite on the album, but it still isn’t great.
Honestly, the whole album was a snooze-fest, Morrissey’s vocals weren’t my favourite, and nothing in the album excited me.

Figure 8
Elliott Smith
Son of Sam has a fun bounce to it, it has been much more enjoyable than Nirvana and The Smiths.
Somebody That I Used To Know was ok, vocals weren’t my favourite of all time but still not bad.
Junk Bond Trader was alright, fairly calm, I quite liked the piano intro.
Everything Reminds Me Of Her was again fairly calming, nothing bad about it, just nothing gripping.
Everything Means Nothing To Me was too short and repetitive for me to care about, it wasn’t bad, I just feel nothing towards it.
L.A. was fine, again nothing I loved about it, it was just ok.
In The Lost And Found is again okay, not my favourite, I like the almost ragtime feel to it thought.
Stupidity Tries was alright, I liked the guitar on the track.
Easy Way Out was again ok, a lot of the songs on this album are quite similar vocally, so there’s not much else to comment on.
Wouldn’t Mama Be Proud was the same singer-songwriter style as the rest of the album.
Colorbars was fairly calm, I liked the piano again.
Happiness/TGM is the longest song on the album, and it does somewhat feel like that since it’s quite samesy as the whole album, although the drums were quite enjoyable on this track.
Pretty Mary Kay lost me to be honest, but this point in the album, I’m just bored so I’m kinda wanting it to be over by this point.
Better Be Quiet Now is just boring me even more, I don’t want to be negative but at this point, the effect has ran out.
Can’t Make A Sound is the same boring stuff to me.
Bye is a short, calm instrumental to close the album off and I don’t have any gripes with it.
Overall, the album was ok, I can see why someone would enjoy it, just not to my taste personally.

Zombie
Fela Kuti
Zombie was quite a fun track, very upbeat and makes you want to dance, so the length didn’t bother me too much.
Mr. Follow Follow isn’t as fun as Zombie, so drags on a bit, but nothing about the song loses me.
Observation No Crime again is an interesting fusion of genres, but too long for me to truly get into.
Mistake (Live At The BJF 1978) was just more of the same “Afrobeat” Kuti was known for, so the effect of the genre-blending had worn off by this point.
Overall, the album was ok, it started off on a high then started to lose me, nothing about the album was bad, it was just 4 fairly long songs, so lost interest after some time. I don’t see myself going back and listening to it again, but I’m glad I’ve heard it once.

Automatic For The People
R.E.M.
Drive was a good opener to the album, I really enjoyed it, despite knowing hardly R.E.M. I’m already enjoying them, so may listen to more.
Try Not To Breathe was good, I personally preferred Drive a bit better but was still really good.
The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite was again good, the chorus vocals have a really weird rhythm but it’s not bad.
Everybody Hurts I think everybody knows so I’m not going to say anything, because it’s a good song.
New Orleans Instrumental No. 1 was a short instrumental to break up the album about half way through and it wasn’t bad.
Sweetness Follows was again quite calm, the album is a lot more acoustic rock than I expected, which I won’t complain about, it’s a great album so far.
Monty Got A Real Deal was a decent song, you can definitely hear a more southern sound on this track.
Ignoreland was one of the most fun songs of the album by this point, would gladly listen to again.
Star Me Kitten is probably the most mediocre song in the album so far, if I was to skip any track it would probably be this one.
Man On The Moon was an improvement on Star Me Kitten, so pulled my attention back, was a good song.
Nightswimming was a really nice song, was quite calm and was a big fan.
Find The River was a very calming song that made a really good album closer.
Honestly, this is the first album that I didn’t want to end, it was really enjoyable.

Rock 'N Soul
Solomon Burke
Cry To Me was a pretty good song, and given my long break from this, was a good song to come back to.
Just Out Of Reach was a bit calmer, would make good background music as opposed to listening to it.
Goodbye Baby was again good background music.
If You Need Me was a bit more of a listening song than the previous two, which were better background noise.
Can’t Nobody Love You was more of the same style, it was good, just nothing new to add.
Someone To Love Me was the same, definitely from the 60s.
You’re Good For Me was more of the same stuff on the album, nothing jumps out.
Won’t You Give Him was a bit different than other songs so won’t complain
Hard, Ain’t It Hard was bit more “country” opposed to the rest of the album, so again different.
You Can’t Love Em All again really encapsulates that 60s sound, and was a nice throwback.
Beautiful Brown Eyes again was good background music.
He’ll Have A Go reminded me of Elvis, and was a nice song to close the album off.
Overall, the album was good background music, nothing blew me away, but I didn’t dislike anything, would make good restaurant music.

Shake Your Money Maker
The Black Crowes
Twice As Hard was really good, I like the guitar tone a lot.
Jealous Again was good as well, I like the inclusion of the sort of jazzy piano on this song.
Sister Luck you can definitely hear the “country” coming through a bit, not in a bad way, but it somewhat reminds me of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Could I’ve Been So Blind was again liked, nothing new to say, same reasons as before.
Seeing Things was very reminiscent of Muse’s “Falling Down”, the sort of soft country, I really like it.
Hard To Handle is somewhat familiar, very good, feels a but Led Zeppelin, mot much but a wee bit, has that classic rock feel.
Thick ‘N’ Thin was really enjoyable, made me want to move, really liked the guitar work.
She Talks To Angels was a nice acoustic ballad, literally the only gripe is the tuning meaning I can’t learn it.
Struttin’ Blues again, highly enjoyable, would love to learn all this stuff but nothing is in a normal tuning.
Stare It Cold I would argue was the worst song on the album, and I still really enjoyed it.
This entire album was great, apparently it’s 43 minutes long, and if so then I must’ve loved it because it was the fastest 43 minutes of my life. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anybody.

Axis: Bold As Love
Jimi Hendrix
Exp isn’t really song, it’s just noise and an opener so there’s nothing to say.
Up From The Skies wasn’t what I expected from Hendrix, it was fine, I don’t see myself listening to it again, but I don’t hate it.
Spanish Castle Magic was more what I expected, I liked it a bit more than Up From The Skies, it was a pretty decent song.
Wait Until Tomorrow was quite funky, in terms of enjoyment I’d put it between SCM and UFTS.
Ain’t No Telling was pretty good, pretty even with SCM.
Little Wing I think everyone who likes rock music knows, it’s a good song.
If 6 Was 9 reminded me of War Pigs by Black Sabbath, just the start-stop style riff, the song itself was alright, kinda what I expected from Hendrix.
You Got Me Floatin’ was okay, again didn’t blow me away, didn’t bore, it was fine.
Castle Made Of Sand was good, wasn’t a huge fan of the reversed guitars but I liked it nonetheless.
She’s So Fine is ok, granted it’s not Jimi Hendrix, but it’s a decent song again.
One Rainy Wish grew on me as the song went on, I liked it.
Little Miss Lover was fine, nothing stood out though.
Bold As Love was a good song to close the album, definitely fit the album well.
Overall, I enjoyed this album a lot more than I thought I would have, not much else to say, I just did.

Off The Wall
Michael Jackson
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough is a good song, didn’t know it was by MJ, also didn’t know how long the song was, but it’s still good.
Rock With You is another song that I know, but didn’t know was MJ, again, pretty good, like it a bit better than DSTYGE.
Workin’ Day And Night was fine, although there was a really prominent high pitched click throughout the whole song which was annoying.
Get On The Floor was again fine, was a big fan of the bass in the song.
Off The Wall was again fine, nothing much to say.
Girlfriend was again okay, nothing great, nothing bad.
She’s Out Of My Life was actually surprisingly good, MJ’s emotion in the song was very well conveyed and it was a lot better than I expected.
I Can’t Help It was far from my favourite song on the album so far, I can’t explain it, it just wasn’t my thing.
It’s The Falling In Love was fine, just not the biggest MJ fan so kinda wanted the album to end.
Burn This Disco out was again just fine, not his best, not his worst.
Overall the album was fine, I’m not a fan of Michael Jackson so was trying not to be biased in any way, but it was a fine album.

E.V.O.L.
Sonic Youth
Tom Violence was okay, not for me but I can see how someone would like it.
Shadow Of A Doubt and Starpower were not for me, just not what I like.
In The Kingdom #19 was just background talking, didn’t really see the point in it.
Green Light wasn’t my favourite, again wasn’t really what I like.
Death To Our Friends is just an okay instrumental, I didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.
Secret Girl wasn’t my favourite either.
Marilyn Moore is just dissonant noise to me.
Madonna, Sean and Me should have ended at 3 minutes, it didn’t need the slow, long, drawn out outro.
Bubble Gum I wanted to try and like, but it just isn’t my style of music.
In all honesty, I’m disappointed, I had high hopes for the album, I wanted something a bit more rock, and this album sadly just didn’t meet my expectations.
I can see how someone would like it, but again it’s just not my thing.

Abbey Road
Beatles
Come Together is a good song, it has an iconic bass line and there is a reason it is well known.
Something was okay, I didn’t like it as much as Come Together but I can see how someone would enjoy it.
Maxwell’s Silver Hammer wasn’t what I expected, although I didn’t know what to expect, again it was okay though.
Oh! Darling I did quite enjoy, especially the more strained, rocky, Roger Taylor-esque vocals, my favourite song so far.
Octupus’s Garden is to catchy, I don’t want to like it, given how ridiculous it is, bug I’d be lying if I said I didn’t.
I Want You (She’s So Heavy) was okay, I was a fan of the heavier segments because I like metal breakdowns, so I’ll give it that, wasn’t my favourite, wasn’t the worst.
Here Comes The Sun I don’t like, I can’t say why, the guitar is fine, the song is iconic, the vocals are good, I just don’t like it and don’t think it should be their most popular song.
Because I feel weird about, I feel like it would work better if it was covered by a band like Ghost, it would fit their creepier aesthetic well, but it was ok.
You Never Give Me Your Money I know because of the Tenacious D cover, which I love, it so upbeat and fun, and I do prefer it over this version, but this is still decent.
Sun King I wasn’t a huge fan of, it was a tad to dreary for me, however the change in language caught me off guard.
Mean Mr Mustard was good in comparison to Sun King, I quite enjoyed the drums.
Polythene Pam segued quite well from MMM, which then flowed nicely to…
She Came In Through The Bathroom Window, which is fine, I have preferred other songs, but this is one of my higher songs, although I feel like this, PP, MMM and possibly Sun King should have been one big song.
Golden Slumbers I didn’t know that I knew, it’s an okay song, but I have known the song for years and didn’t know it was by them, so that was a nice surprise.
Carry That Way again segued nicely from Golden Slumbers, and I did like it, especially the callback to YNGMYM.
The End is the other half of the Tenacious D cover, so I did know this as well, again preferred the Tenacious D cover, however I did like this version as well, and I really liked the guitar solo and drums.
Her Majesty I don’t think should be on the album, it was unnecessary, it should have ended with The End.
Overall, my dislike of the Beatles may have been unwarranted, Abbey Road was a pretty good album, I think some songs were better than others, and that some *cough* HCTS *cough* are quite overrated, but I get why this is one of the greatest albums now.
