Rumours
Fleetwood Mac
Track 1: Nice and driving rhythmically, and percussive both in beat and vocal timbre. Upbeat and positive song that feels like a road trip. Reminds me a bit of Cecilia by S&G
Track 2: Very pretty guitar work that tends to float/drift above the rest of the backing track. Spooky and mystical sound. Guitar effects give dreamlike steelguitar sound. Great harmonies on the chorus. The buildup to the chorus has the incredible cymbal crash on beat 2 which melts me. Very tight drumming on this.
Track 3: one of my favorite tracks. Very complex fingerpicking guitar work throughout keeping the beat and rhythm without any other instruments. Great vocal melody that accompanies the guitar melody well. Feels like going on a hike or camping.
Track 4: Great up-beat piano driven melody. Very forward thinking and positive both musically and lyrically. Guitar solo was well placed and quick with good links. Ends perfectly as the melody is quite repetitive.
Track 5: Great acoustic guitar work and strum pattern with electric rhythm in the back. Feels like you're on a mountain top. Song pushes and pulls with each verse headed towards the chorus. Lyrically stresses the importance of independence and freedom. 1st Guitar solo section is a bit lackluster but has cool distortion. 2nd Guitar solo absolutely kills it and drives to a killer climax of the song.
Track 6: Beautiful slow piano ballad. The vocals are absolutely stunning and the high notes are hit really well. Soft and restrained vocals, feels like the vocals could give more edge but are holding off. The rises and falls of the vocals are a bit repetitive and somewhat annoying at times but don't cease to be very pretty.
Track 7: badass intro guitarwork feels like a cowboy slowly into a dusty town. The harmonies are perfect on this track. The funky driving baseline in the chorus is great. Chorus vocals are great and have awesome emotional edge. This song is retaliatory. You can feel the anger of the singer. OH MY LORD THE SEXIEST BASSLINE IN ROCK. GIVE ME THAT LOW NOTE. guitar solo soars at the end and matches the songs ferocity along with the ending vocals edge.
Track 8: Funky bassline and start. Awesome clavicord backing track throughout. Wow vocals are lofty and pretty with those high notes. Very nice solo section with well placed solo and nice links. Swirling backing harmonies. Tight drumming on this track. Ending guitar solo is nice. Lackluster fade to finish.
Track 9: Bright and crisp intro acoustic guitar. Great 2 part vocals right off the rip. Great tight drumming. Oh man I hear claps in the background. Nice. Chorus is very tight with the mix up drums with the 3 on 4. Gets a little repetitive. Very solid guitar solo and very clean tone.
Track 10: very mysterious and swirling instrumentation. I love the flutey keyboard sound in the back. Daddy issues much? Very nice lingering low piano key hit is a nice effect. Incredible acoustic guitarwork with pretty harmonics. Great fading organs/keys.
Track 11: Nice clockwork percussion. Woah a little wah wah pedal guitar? Or just nice dreamy effects and reverb. Pretty chorus harmonies. Still very mysterious. Nice decrescendo to get a bit softer. Would've like a bit more drumming on this track, a bit lacking on the drums. Singer really has some emotion in her voice. Wow awesome guitar effects that sounds like screaming or a dog crying.... goosebumps.
All in all, a great no-skip album with incredible instrumentation, and a beautifully emotional story to tell.

Birth Of The Cool
Miles Davis
Track 1: Great fast paced start with the horns section rhythm. Awesome light and quick trumpet solo into the sax solo. Incredible speed of the bass on this; the bassline is absolutely moving. Perfect drum fills and solo break.
Track 2: Nice pace on this song with the cool off-beat rhythm. Lil Poly thing going on. Incredibly crisp chord changes in the horns. Smooth trumpet solo. The off-beat melody now with the drums are super crispy. Sax solo is good a lil lackluster at times. Once again really tight changes on the ending and slowing it down a bit.
Track 3: Slow and beautiful Start. Silky smooth progressions that feel like a walk through a park on a warm dark night. Bassline relaxes a bit in the background and provides just enough to keep a loose structure. Wow incredible note hold by the trumpet, and then busting right into these minor chords. Nice soft finish at the end.
Track 4: Very tight walking bassline. Nice soft horn hits on the main section. Light and playful trumpet solo on top. Very airy sax solo but keeps smooth. The off rhythm hits and fills from the drums are great.
Track 5: Fast pace song with light kit drums. The runs in the trumpet solo are nice and together. Lightning quick melodies. Great drum fills right at the end.
Track 6: Nice trumpet lead on the melody right off the bat. A bit scattered with these solo sections but drums hold it together. Oh lord a very pretty trombone/euphonium solo super slick.
Track 7: Incredible main melody led by the low brass and sax line. The drums accompany the horn hits super well. The trumpet joining that low melody line after the solo is a nice touch. Nice reach for the high note at the end.
Track 8: Personal favorite song off the album. Great splashy cymbals. The main melody is just so catchy the way they toy around with the notes. The sax solo is just perfectly placed and light on the top. The trumpet solo brings some beautiful airy runs. Piano solo quickly brings it back to the main melody. Song just feels so laid back and relaxed.
Track 9: light and playful with the intro melody. Great rises and falls of the song. Trumpet and sax solos were okay; felt a bit forced. Great dynamic shifts in the high and low parts.
Track 10: fluid sax right off the bat. Nice 3 over 4 melody line. Trumpet solo was crispy and then slowly fades back into the backing track. Sax solo is an absolute highlight. Good lord the sax runs are insane in this. Was not a fan of the Forced ending.
Track 11: clean and smooth melodic line. Nice percussive cutoffs for effect. Best piano solo on the album for sure; perfectly placed. Piano solo goes right to sax with some beautiful fast paced runs. Solo to solo transitions are incredibly smooth. Drums have some nice fills but I wish there was more. Brings back the main melody line at the end.
Album is incredible and pretty much individually kicked off the cool jazz genre. I love Miles Davis, and I'll hold the uncommon opinion that this is my favorite album of his.

Track 1: Very nice synth horn hits accompanying the beats. Need that dolla every day of the week. Nice very early use of drum machines which is sick. Flow is pretty 1 dimensional but lyrics are great yelling that they are having hard times.
Track 2: Oh dang, cool guitar intro on the beat over the drum machine. Beat is really cool and complex. Love the switch to each different rapper. Nice scratching. The guitar accompanied with the lyrics are the highlights. Song drags on a bit at the end.
Track 3: Oh dang I love Me some scratching turnstilism. The samples are sick with the horns. Run DMC lovestory to jam master jay I love it. Great use of the scratching as an individual instrument to solo on. Love it!
Track 4: Great fast clapping beat. Got rhymes so deaf sheesh. Good flow on this song and nice switches back and forth to each MC. Beat at the end gets a bit old.
Track 5: I like the beat but the claps are a bit much. Nice kind-of disstrack to other sucker MC's? Flow is eh on this as well.
Track 6: oh I love this dancey beat with the bright horns. It's like that and that's the way it is. Beat is a bit repetitive, and I wish there was more instrumentation or sampling instead of just drums at times. Call and response is nice on this. I like the soft finish.
Track 7: cool deep voice sample, and I like the little glockenspiel sound. Nice and popping. Love the MLK-esque message and commentary. Comments on a utopian vision but this was just a dream and real life is not like this.
Track 8: oh man I love the midi type keyboard and synths; Makes the song a bit funky and Dancey. Nice fade and reverb on the keys part. Ending is repetitive but really let's you feel the beat.
Track 9: oh man I love the samples and the scratching on this. The turntables are sick. Great beats and way to switch it up to not keep it the same. Once again basically solos on the turntable.
Overall the album is very solid and extremely influential. At times some of the beats were one dimensional and the rapping was meh. I think jam master jay really shined on this album and showed his talents as a different type of producer. Run DMC walked so wu-tang could sprint.

It's Blitz!
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Track 1: Strong repeating synths in the beginning. Great backing string synths. Oh man great vocal attacks on the high notes, really reaching for them. Really starts to get dancey.
Track 2: hey! I know this song and love the remixes to it. Dark and moving synths off the bat. Great dancey and moving beat. Again awesome vocal attacks and moving chorus and back Track. Off with your head. Pretty and heightened bridge section. Nice repeated vocals at the end.
Track 3: More chill and laid back. The sporadic vocal hits are awesome. Fantastic drumming and steady neat on this. Love the background relaxing low bell sounds. Awesome heavy-sounding finish to the track.
Track 4: Beautiful slow growth of synths in the intro. Can feel this building into something big. Awesome lofty synths floating on everything else. Feels like I'm epically standing in the middle of the road in the rain contemplating life. Nice melodic synth lines. Wish there was a bigger climax but fading great.
Track 5: Nice repeating guitar melody in the intro feels cool and badass. Dang amazing pick up to the song, this is hard and aggressive. Great vocal attacks. Nice descending and ascending chorus line. This is a bit punky and bluesy.
Track 6: Awesome bluesy bassline with cool effects. Nice percussive drumming. Great heavy distorted guitarwork on this, almost sounds like horns.
Track 7: Pretty solo piano intro. Nice introspective lyrics and vocals. Driving drum beats. Wow intense ending with sharp edgey discordant strings.
Track 8: Groovy little drum and guitar work. Love the high vocals on this song in the chorus.
Track 9: More relaxed vocal delivery. Very empowering and nice reverb guitar backing. Nice and poppy bright song. Very sweeping and smooth chorus. Cool whistling and fading outro.
Track 10: calm, relaxing acoustic guitar and soft melodic vocals. Love the dream-like drifting background synths. Pretty apex of the song. Nice humming part at the end to fade.
Overall, I liked this album. The vocal deliveries were really cool and crisp. I love the changes in the album from striking and aggressive to soft and smooth sonically. The synths abs backing tracks were incredible. Gave strong vibes like something from Beach House or the Tune-yards.
