Truly not for me. Found the album as a whole to be pretty uninteresting and basic Brit pop/punk. A Certain Romance is a fun song that is 10 years ahead of Vampire Weekend. Still Take Your Home made me bop around a bit. Mardy Bum had an interesting progression. Maybe Im just not into punk.
I was gonna give this a 3 but then after some rampant discussion i realized that i almost certainly will never listen to this album again. So 2 it is.
Great album. The first 2 tracks and both mega hits for me, even more than time of the season. The rest of it was always pleasant and when it ended i was disappointed it was over.
I liked it. But i didnt love love it. Think my rating spectrum may be evolving.
Tough one- brokedown place is a top 5 dead song easy. This album is full of amazing songwriting. Still, I’d put a live version of any of these tunes on before the album cut. Can’t wait to give 5s to Reckoning and Workingman’s Dean, but this one is a 4
